In Nigeria, the persistence of the Mandatory Death Penalty places the country among the 28% of countries still employing this absolute punishment. The risk of miscarriages of justice, human rights violations and socio-economic disparities in legal representation worsen the use of capital punishment.
The Solution
Our Death Penalty program utilises strategic litigation, capacity building and advocacy working with the global advocacy movement towards abolishment.
